The Parking (Or lack thereof!)
Is parking right in front of your doorstep the most important thing for your holiday? If so, an authentic Ligurian village might not be the ideal choice for you.As a matter of fact, Castè is a medieval village dating back to the 1200s. Like most historical fortifications in Liguria, it is crossed by the famous, narrow streets known as caruggi. Historically, these extremely narrow alleys served a very specific military purpose: they forced invaders into a single line, reducing their offensive power and exposing them to defensive fire. By slowing down the enemy’s advance, it was much easier for locals to resist sieges.
The Right Car
Consequently, you can easily understand that this place was definitely not designed for modern, oversized SUVs!Therefore, our ancient village does not have large parking areas, and our Stay Hamlet holiday homes do not feature private parking garages. However, this does not mean you cannot drive up close to the house; occasionally, you might even find a spot in the small square nearby, though we cannot guarantee it. On the bright side, there are plenty of free public parking spaces available along the road at the village entrance, just 50 to 100 meters (about 160 to 320 feet) away from Castè Style near Cinque Terre and For You.Furthermore, we always organize your check-in seamlessly. Upon arrival, our guests can easily drive right up to the property entrance to comfortably unload their luggage. In addition to the winding roads outside, our ancient residence—much like most historic properties in this area—features numerous steps. Specifically, Castè Style is thoughtfully distributed over three floors. On the ground floor, you will find the kitchen and a convenient first bathroom. Moving up to the first floor, there is a cozy living room with a dedicated smart working space, the main bathroom, and our large panoramic terrace. Finally, the top floor hosts the three main bedrooms.
Consequently, if you have mobility issues or simply find climbing stairs difficult, we sincerely advise you that Castè Style, our charming Stay Hamlet retreat, might not be the right choice for your holiday. On the other hand, if you are traveling with toddlers, please note that we have installed a safety gate to block access to the stairs, ensuring total peace of mind, especially at night while parents are asleep.However, if stairs are not a problem for you, you will absolutely love the pleasure of staying in a large, historic house with generous spaces for the entire family. Consequently, even during the peak tourist season, the village remains an exclusive haven for residents and their guests, meaning it is never crowded. On the bright side, we are always delighted to recommend excellent restaurants just a 5-minute drive from our home. Moreover, we can guide you to a local artisan bakery that makes delicious croissants and famous traditional Ligurian vegetable or rice pies, as well as a nearby pastry shop for your morning breakfast. You can even visit a cozy neighborhood vineyard to enjoy wine tastings paired with authentic local food.Furthermore, the city of La Spezia is just a short 13-minute drive from the center of Castè. As a result, you will have access to all kinds of restaurants and bars. There, you can taste authentic Ligurian specialties, from fresh seafood, local mussels, and Gulf oysters to traditional ravioli, panigacci, and sgabei. If you prefer, you can even book a table at a vegan, Chinese, or Japanese restaurant. We will always be happy to suggest a romantic waterfront restaurant for your special evenings.In addition, if you prefer to dine on the beautiful terrace of your Stay Hamlet holiday home, it couldn’t be easier.
